If this is a real problem, I wonder if we can adjust it, like focus peeking micro manual adjust. What lens and aperture? I understand that even the focus peeking on the Sony NEX 5n, is off at extremely shallow dof. Tried it last night at iso 100, didn't work, still wildly innaccurate. and I heard is in camera processing of 1600, theoretically you can get the same quality by shooting at -1 EV 1600.

I do agree that ISO 1600 is high for the 5Dc as it only goes up to 3200 and that is with a C.Fn. Magic Lantern was originally written for the Canon EOS 5D Mark II by Trammell Hudson in 2009 after he reverse engineered its firmware. It adds features for DSLR filmmaking and still photography, and is free and open-source. Might be worth trying again at low iso's, all my testing was at iso 1600. Magic Lantern is a firmware add-on for various Canon digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras and the EOS M. Since then I've been told that it doesn't work at high iso's as all it sees is noise. Not a huge amount of features as there is no live view but enough that I can finally get rid of my overpriced TC-80N3.

One touch zoom is nice, intervalometer is nice too. These are useful for those shooting video who dont already have other time-lapse accessories or software like Magic Lantern, and those shooting time-lapses. Credit goes to Coutts and A1ex for porting ML to the 5DC. Got some bugs, but still looking forward to having a running version soon. The peaking is wildly innaccurate unfortunately. MAGIC LANTERN CANON 5DC PORT UPDATE
Recently I've bought a dead 5d classic, which after repairing the blown fuse on DC/DC board has come back to life Everything works fine, AF, Shutter speeds, photo review, firmware update to 1.1.1 and I've been even able to upload magic lantern. You can still use the menus.Tip: this feature may be useful with External Recorders, since it removes the focus box and other graphics from the display.Don't know if this has been covered before or if it posted here somewhere (if so,I apologize for repeating).īut here's some useful info for us 5Dc owners: Hi all I've been using magic lantern since old 350D, nice to see it has been ported to 5D Classic. in fact this is what I did back when I killed 5D2 and downgraded to 5Dc as.

If you delete Magic Lantern files from card, but do not format the card - then camera will still try to run Magic Lantern and fail.
